Thanks to Jamie Jones, Clerk of the Course, for taking the time to write the following report and thanks to Harriet Froom for the photos in the slideshow and the gallery.

Firstly, a big thank you to the Ty Mawr Quarry owners for not only allowing us to use the quarry, but for spending a great deal of time on Saturday preparing the area for the event. As always they go above and beyond our expectations, to help and assist in any way they possibly can. On Saturday the sun was shining, and the views from the top of the quarry were stunning.
On Sunday morning the gates opened at 8 am, with competitors streaming steadily through. By 10 am sign on was complete and we had a total number of 19 competitors.
With the first three rounds of tests completed, a small lead between 1st, 2nd and 3rd place to the rest of the pack opened up with Deio Hughes in first place, Will Hughes second and Ben Jones third.

With the rain on hold and Sion Môn's burger van giving off the lovely smell of bacon and sausages cooking, the marshals stopped for a well deserved lunch break. While the competitors conversed about their rounds, the marshals removed rocks and filled in the ruts.
In the afternoon a further four rounds were completed. Dion Bee was handicapped by smashing a shaft, but despite this, he was able to complete the day and still managed 12th place overall.
Whilst the end of the day was drawing in and the clean-up began, the results team were busy inputting data. The results concluded that Deio Hughes had lost his early lead and finished in third place, with Will Hughes having a three second advantage and finishing in second place. First place went to Ben Jones with Guto Roberts in the navigator’s seat, taking their first ever FTD by 9 seconds in their blue Ford Fiesta.

Once again the C&A Motor Club family have pulled together with great enthusiasm to put on a very successful and enjoyable event. A thank you also goes to Tex, Endaf, Carey, Laura Jos, Rob, Catrin, Paul, Merf, Gav, Laura K, Sion Môn and all competitors who helped to tidy up and leave the quarry in a respectable condition .
