Report

Everyone involved was pleased to see the return of Anglesey Vintage Equipment Society's Vintage Rally after a two year break due to Covid restrictions. C&A Motor Club had been allocated the usual area for a static display of competition cars, demonstrate autotesting and offer passenger rides in return for charity donations.
With the risk assessment completed and the appropriate Motorsport UK permit issued, the C&A team set out the course, safety boundary and signs and had the club trailer in place on the Friday evening. Some ten competition cars were provided by members and our Competition Secretary, Peredur Davies, had assembled information boards for each vehicle. The display looked very good and attracted plenty of interest from the public.
With a shortage of drivers due to other commitments, the demonstration and passenger rides were restricted to one morning and one afternoon session. Both sessions on both days saw a high demand for rides from all age groups and queues developed to sign-on and, for younger people, a check on age and height in order to comply with the regulations.

Donations for the rides were very generous and we were able to raise almost £300 for the DPJ Foundation, which aims to support those in the agricultural sector suffering from poor mental health (see a separate news item on this website).
Many thanks to everyone who brought their cars for the static display and the members that turned out to assist.
Special thanks to the drivers that gave a demonstration of their Autotesting skills and provided the passenger rides - Will Hughes, Cian Hughes, Sion Eifion, Elis Hardy, Dewi Jones and Dion Bee.

Information

The Club has once again been invited to display at the Vintage Rally, which is organised by the Anglesey Vintage Equipment Society.

This will be the first Vintage Rally since the onset of the Covid pandemic and we plan to have the usual demonstration of autotesting and offer rides in exchange for charity donations.
To support the display we would like to have a static exhibition of a range of competition cars, so if any club member has a vehicle available for that weekend, please get in touch with any member nof the committee.
