Caernarvonshire and Anglesey Motor Club's ‘90 days of C&A’ kicked off on Wednesday, 13th of May with a motorsport quiz held at Clwb Golff Caernarfon. A total of 6 teams attended the event which was a great start to the 90 Days celebration.
Superbly and thoroughly organised by Peredur Davies, the quiz featured ten rounds with questions relating to rallying, the history of C&A Motor Club and a picture round to name but a few.
Two rounds featured motorsport items commonly found on competition cars hidden inside cardboard boxes such that it was not possible to see what was inside the box. Quiz competitors had to guess what was inside the box by touch alone! This proved to be a popular round with items varying from straight cut gears to windscreen washer pumps.
Two rounds were sound related. 5 sound clips of famous co-drivers were played while quiz competitors had to guess the name of the co-driver. It is quite surprising how similar Nicky Grist and Phil Mills sound when played one after another! The next round featured five sound clips of competition engines, and the challenge was to name the car. A member of one team is quoted as saying:” We identified four correct but how we did not spot the sound of a 5-cylinder Audi Quattro is beyond me. I think the twittering wastegate tricked us into thinking it was a far more modern R2 car! That’s our excuse anyway”.

The results were as follows:-
1st Place - ‘Moniars’ – 71 points
2nd Place - ‘No Hôp Motorsport’ - 63 points
Joint 3rd - ‘Repeat the Note’ and ‘Idishido’ 57 points
5th Place - ‘Wacky Races’ – 56 points
6th Place - ‘No Clue Crew’ - 50 points

Thank you, Peredur, for organising the event. All who attended thoroughly enjoyed themselves!
