News from the Clerk of the Course.

After receiving more than the maximum of forty entries within a week, Clerk of the Course of the 'Barnes Auto Engineering' Valentine Rally, Paul Morris, stated that the organisers are at the a stage on this years event that the entry is full with some reserves. The organisers encourage anyone in classes 3 & 2 only, still wishing to enter, to do so as it is normal for competitors to withdraw for various reasons prior to the start of the event. Any additional entries will be placed on the reserve list and offered a place in the event based on completed (paid) entry on a first come, first served basis. As an organising team they are absolutely made up that the entire entry is made up of beginners and novices, as this was the original concept all those years ago, and therefore there will NOT be a class for Semi-experts or Experts. The success of the entry for this year has come with a degree of disappointment for competitors that would normally be classed as Semi Expert or Expert, but competitors are reminded that this is a novice/beginner event and thus has been tailored in that direction. Paul is quoted as saying "I make no apology for this as it was always the team's intention to put on the event for beginners and novices".
